Dear Ms Slipper,

Boy am I GLAD to hear someone make intelligent comments that could only
have come about after proper, unbiased analysis. Because I have been
reading all this while comments posted on the ArmyDaze webpage that go
something like "Wah piang, see beh good ah! Ah Beng lagi best ah!" And I
still can't get over this one... "Super Movie by Singapore"!!!

I was utterly disappointed with Army Daze, with all its stupid slapstick
humour which have already become trite anyway... And no, I am not about
to defend it just because it is our first effort, and all that patriotic
blah blah...

However, I feel u should not have put all the blame on Director Ong. I
think the script itself sucks (if only Michael Chiang could hear this),
and didn't give Ong much of a chance to showcase his directing skills. I
mean, come on, there really isn't much he can do to salvage a scene that
goes:

"Oh Krishna!" "Oh, Lathi!" "Oh Krishna!" "Oh, Lathi!" "Krish-naaaah!"
"Latheeeeee!...."

I came out cursing and swearing at Michael Chiang. To be fair, I think
he's the one who failed to explore the potential issues in greater
depth. I think he underestimated his audience (but then again, judging
from the rave reviews on their site, he might not have...) I personally
felt it was an insult to my intelligence, and to my movie-going
experience. Good grief! I find ArmyDaze more of an embarrassment than
anything!

Ok, said my piece. Feel much better now... ;)

Regards,
Corrinne

P.S. Btw, how the hell did that Malcolm guy get his part? His acting is
ATROCIOUS!!
